Recruitment & Selection Process

The Police Commission for the City of Genoa is conducting a recruitment for qualified individuals interested in a career with the Genoa Police Department to establish an eligibility list for the position of Police Officer.

The Minimum Qualifications are as Follows:

• You must be 20 years of age and not more than 35.

• You must be a United States Citizen

• You must have a High School Degree.

• You must be an individual of upstanding moral character with no felony arrests.

• You must be able to meet minimum physical standards as established by the Illinois Police Training and Standards board. 

Interested persons must deliver a complete application packet to City Hall prior to 5 PM February 29th, 2008. The forms can be obtained here or we will send you an application packet via US mail.

Current starting salary is $37,000 with a generous benefit package and a 3.5 day work week (12 hour shifts) with every other weekend off (3 days).
