Ty Lynch has been a police officer in Genoa since November of 1988. Prior to becoming a Genoa Officer, Ty served in the Army for three years. Ty was a military police officer while serving his country. Ty got promoted to Sergeant of Investigations in March of 1998.

Ty’s responsibilities currently include Juvenile officer and criminal investigator. Ty is in charge of the training coordination for the department. Ty is also a firearms instructor for the department. Ty feels that good officers become great officers with the proper training. 

Some of the many police classes that Ty has attended are: juvenile officer, homicide investigator, crime scene technician, critical incident management, L.E.A.D.S. coordinator, breath alcohol operator, managing criminal investigations, and first responder medical training. Ty graduated from Northwestern School of Staff and Command in 2001. 

Ty is married to Tammy and they have one kid together, Josh. Ty has two children from a previous marriage, Tanya and Jessica. Ty also has two step children, Andrew and Kayleigh. Tammy is employed by Wal Camp in Kingston. Wal Camp is a Lutheran camp. Ty is currently the only officer living in Genoa. Ty feels that living within the community, helps make him available to those that he serves.
