K-9 Unit
The Genoa Police Department is composed of 10 officers, who serve the City of Genoa. Genoa is located in Northern Dekalb County in Northern Illinois. The population is approximately 5,000 residents, and is located in a semi-rural environment.
The K9 unit is lead by Officer Tim Hoffstead. Officer Hoffstead has been an active Police Officer since 2000. Frank is the first service dog.
The support and contributions from the community are what has made this program a success.

We Provide Service, Protection, Leadership, and Guidance to the citizens of Genoa in an effort to eliminate fear of crime, enhance the sense of security our citizens feel, and make our community a more pleasant place to live and work.
